Notoriety:
The unique vision to convert NYC Armories into community recreation centers started with “Take The Field,” a non-for-profit organization which has been supporting NYC public education and physical activity for many years. OMNI initial contribution was to prepare schematic design and help attract support by both private and from public sector. The events of 9/11 temporarily suspended this effort until 2004, when Mayor Bloomberg pledged support and directed NYC DDC to execute the project.  The facility, which opened in January 2010, will be operated by the local YMCA.
